    Events

    The Give Back organizes 4 events per year, with each event benefiting a different cause. The ultimate goal is to raise awareness and support for the respective campaign, as well as introduce and inspire those in attendance to join a movement that they can continue to be passionate about, as volunteers and ambassadors.

    As represented by our logo, each event is targeted towards a specific purpose.

    1. The Give Back FTH

      The Give Back From The Heart focuses on the responsibility we have to love, protect, and educate our fellow man, especially here at home.

    2. The Give Back 71%

      The Give Back 71% is dedicated to the preservation of the water that covers 71% our planet, for the sake of the life it nourishes, above and below.

    3. The Give Back Green

      The Give Back Green serves as a commitment to leaving our environment and earthly companions better than we found them.

    4. The Give Back Global

      The Give Back Global promotes the idea that as one people we need to reach out globally to serve our brothers and sisters around the world.

    Get Involved

    Okay enough talk, here's how you can walk the walk.

    1. Spread the word

      It's time to spread your wings you social network butterfly. Yes we have posters, but before you dirty up the kitchen cooking wheat paste, save some trees and get your web 2.0 on. Email, Myspace, Facebook, Virb, Twitter, Vimeo, Youtube, whatever your weapon of choice is, send it to everyone and their mamas, and their mama's mamas. Start a movement. You can grab web badges here and feel free to embed our videos anywhere your little heart pleases. It's as easy as copy and paste.

    2. Volunteer

      You've told your friends, your followers, your subscribers, your parents, your teachers, your neighbors, the mail man, hell you even told your ex about The Give Back. But you still want more; you're ready for the big leagues. Whether it's for us, one of our featured foundations, or an organization of your own choice, if you're donating your time, talents, and energies to a good cause, you're representing The Give Back and all that it encompasses in the most organic way possible. Tweet and Email us about your interests or stories, we could use the help, and the inspiration!

    3. Video

      So you have a Youtube Channel. You had a Vimeo before Vimeo had a Vimeo. You get so many hits that the "Scheduled Routine Maitenece" seems to occur every time you post a new video. Coincidence? Doubtful. True power? Absolutely. Harness your web omnipotence you media Tyrant, and show your kingdom that you are a fair and just ruler, your mercy only equaled by your good looks and charming sense of humor. Sail onto glory, The Give Back as your vessel. We eagerly await the tales of your conquests. Also feel free to use us as an opportunity to Rick Roll someone. We're in total support of that.

    4. Designers

      Our web badges don't match your color scheme? You want to stick it to the man and use Frutiger instead of Helvetica? Fair enough. Download our Illustrator files, or just do your own thing. Tweet or email us your creations, and we'll post our favorites here on the site. There's no need to call your lawyer, we're licensed under creative commons. (Insert subtle hint about screen printing here.)

    5. Coders

      You see a problem in our jQuery? We forgot to clear our floats? Let us know, we can handle the criticism. If you have a solution, speak slowly and leave plenty of comments in your markup, we're total noobs.

    6. Sponsors

      Your support keeps The Give Back afloat (and it doesn't hurt your Google ranking either). For more information on how you can help, send us an email with "Sponsorship" as the header, and we'll get you all the details you need. As a precaution, our legal team has advised us to tell you that sponsoring The Give Back may increase your popularity and "cool factor" to levels of overwhelming magnitude. Don't say we didn't warn you.

    Poor lil Devon has been experiencing what some “professionals” might call “insomnia”, but here at The Give Back we call it “Yeah we can fix that”.

    So we’re putting the Werkheiser to work (pun intended), he’ll be performing at our first event, The Give Back From The Heart, on May 30th. Of course you already knew that, because you got the update from us on twitter, and have been counting down the days ever since.

    Speaking of twitter, help us convince Devon to get on the twitter train and update us on his sleeplessness. I think if we get enough replies from you guys, he’d finally give in. Then you can tweet him lullabies. Know any good ones?

    Also big ups to Give Back member Rob Pinkston, who directed and edited with GB member Teo, holla at Rob on youtube, vimeo, or twitter and let him know how pretty and funny this is. Of course, you can also tweet Teo about that sweet AE logo animation. (He loves the attention)

    The Give Back Story

    It started with a simple idea: by working together we could utilize our passion for music and performance art to give back to our community in some way.

    Since then, The Give Back has blossomed into a movement that is much bigger than we could have ever imagined. With immeasurable potential and a powerful message, The Give Back is the opportunity we can all use to truly make a difference.

    As you’ve probably read on our event page, The Give Back organizes 4 events a year, each event raising awareness and support for a different cause. These events are represented by that gorgeous logo you’ve been admiring at the top of the page (and yes it would look fantastic on your site).
